A group exhibition of seven female artists whose work individually addresses areas of life that are often overlooked or ignored.
The black and white forms in this screen print, titled Haram/Halal, are graphic interpretations of the Arabic letter ha (ح). It is the first letter of the two words, haram and halal, loosely translating to ‘forbidden’ and ‘allowed’ and considered to be the boundary points of Islamic faith.
The black and white letters in this piece sit upon a grey background, which represents the grey area or the space between extremes in which so much of life operates.

Mind The Gap was an exhibition and programme that was the result of an open call to creatives residing in the United Arab Emirates.
Twenty eight artists were selected from an immense amount of applicants who responded to the call. The show explored the idea of perceiving everyday gaps or divisions as opportunities, and not problems, through a creative lens.
